Does Patreon withhold any taxes from my payments? No – Patreon doesn't withhold anything (aside from our fees) from your funds earned on Patreon. We are obligated to add, collect, and remit sales tax and VAT on top of some pledge, but those funds are not calculated anywhere as 'earnings'.

Every Patreon creator page has a default “custom pledge” option that patrons can choose. While the custom pledge suggestion defaults to $5 USD / €5 Euro / £5 British Pounds, the minimum amount a patron can give to a creator is $1 USD / €1 Euro / £1 British Pound.
Some patrons may want to support a creator, but can’t afford to join a tier. That said, you set the price of your tiers, and we respect that. The custom pledge, or “No reward” option exists, so patrons can still support you with whatever they can give.
For example, a patron with a custom pledge of $2, that is not in a $2 tier, will not have access to the $2 tier post content. The patron will only have access to posts you publish for “All patrons”.
Benefits are what patrons receive for selecting a specific tier. Add multiple benefits to tiers, or keep it simple with fewer, big-impact benefits.

You have about 3-5 seconds to grab their attention and keep them reading when they first see your page – so make sure you put your best foot forward. Whether that’s via text, image or video – or all three.
