Not all P2W servers are against Minecraft's EULA... Server owners may also be breaking other agreements, especially regarding the hosting service or plugin usage.Jun 22, 2020

Ever since the summer of 2014 (when Mojang changed their EULA to its current iteration), server owners have ignored Mojang’s warnings of enforcement. As you may know, Mojang has started blocking servers that don’t comply with their EULA. All I can say is, they had it coming for over two years now.
When you purchased Minecraft, you had to explicitly state that you agreed to Mojang’s terms, and the EULA is a component of said terms. It doesn’t matter if you approve or disapprove of these terms (or Mojang’s future modifications), if you own a Minecraft account, you must abide by Mojang’s terms.
In order for your server to comply, you must ensure all donation perks offered don’t affect gameplay for any individual player. You may, however, offer server-wide perks that affect every player’s gameplay.
To make donations that comply, it’s best to treat your donations as real donations. People should donate because they want to support a cause, not for something in return. Servers can still offer perks, they just have to make sure they meet the terms of the EULA.
The guidelines are quite easy to digest and understand, but in essence, any in-game benefit — including items, commands, plugin functionality and similar — are not allowed to be sold for real-world money.
Minecraft servers aren’t cheap to host or to maintain, and keeping a large server (or a network of servers!) up with your own pocket money isn’t a viable long-term option for most people. Consider the expenses of hosting a well-developed Minecraft server: there’s the actual hosting itself which, depending on the amount of servers on your network ...
I am wondering if I am doing a okay job? I get around $550 per month for a ~110 person server (creative) (constant-creative.com)
No, I wouldn't say you are doing "a okay job". To me, Minecraft isn't supposed to be a business, but many people treat it as such. Never do I plan to use the money I get towards my own personal needs or wants. No matter how little or how much I make in a month, all I care is paying for any server expenses that may arise within the month.

Turns out you can have too much of a good thing, when that good thing messes with a carefully balanced progression system. Jens remembers a time when this routinely happened with nearly every release, due to simple, repeated oversight.
This humble passive mob is the source of several bug-based Minecraft memes. It’s also the very first mob that Jens created for the game. These facts may be related.
Who knew that Minecraft's most menacing boss mob could throw such sweet shapes? Nathan did!
Minecraft’s most iconic mob was once a bug! Before they got their bright green makeover, before they were packed with an explosive payload, they were no more than terrifyingly deformed pigs.
Searge’s other favourite bug is one that’s still in the game. But is it really a bug, or just an extremely inadvisable performance-shattering feature? Hard to say!
Why fix a bug when you can make it a feature? Pocket Edition dev, Tommaso Checchi suggests a fine example. While optimising the Pocket Edition of the game, the devs removed a stage of terrain generation which checked whether terrain underlying villages was suitable. Suddenly it was possible for villages to generate over water.
Tommaso is also responsible for the bug which was to become the falling sand trap. Sand and gravel are two of a relatively small number of blocks that are affected by gravity: without support by another block, they will fall straight to the ground.
