Share The Joy!

At Bikes4Kids, bikes are donated to us from local bike shops, recycling centers, city governments and individuals. We then refurbish these bikes and give them away, along with a helmet and lock, to someone who might not otherwise be able to afford one. We work through social services organizations to locate families in Minnesota who are in need.

Need Volunteers Too!

Not only do we need bikes but we also need volunteers. Don’t know how to fix bikes? No problem! We also need people who can help with things such as:

Testimonials

When people receive a bike from Bikes4Kids we often receive wonderful messages of thanks. Here are a few:

REPAIRABLE

If the bike can be fixed up to get back on the road, a professional bike mechanic will give it a full tune up and repair it, using either new or used parts. These are then sold in our store as very reasonably priced up-cycled used bikes.

UNREPAIRABLE

If the bike is beyond repair, we ensure that it gets stripped down as efficiently as possible. Usable parts are kept to mend other bikes and the remaining parts are separated into steel, aluminum, rubber and hard plastic to be properly recycled.

GIVEN AWAY

We also work with a number of local charities and organizations to get some of our bikes into the hands of the people that need them most. We have strong ties within our communities and we will continue to connect with them.
