The bags will be filled with supplies that can be used to prepare a holiday dinner. Donations for SOS’ Thanksgiving Food Drive are greatly appreciated and will help make the holidays a little brighter for the Orange County community in need. Thoughtful Thursday Serving Supper (November 4, 11, 18; December 2, 9, 16). Sign up for the selected dates (1 group per date) to provide a meal to a family. You can either provide food and have staff serve on-site or drop off food and Thomas House staff can serve. Guest count is 60.

There are two ways to help: Make a donation, and PHA will use it to purchase food and $50 grocery store gift cards for our families. Head to the grocery store and pick up everything on their list. In Orange County, more than 400,000 people, including 1 in 7 children are food insecure. Consider donating your time or resources to a local food pantry such as; Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County or South County Outreach. These organizations are dedicated to providing nutritious meals to local children, seniors and families in need.
The Orange County Turkey Trot is an annual fun run held on Thanksgiving Day. All funds raised through event registration go to the Orange County Rescue Mission, an organization focused on ending homelessness, one life at a time. This year’s goal is to raise enough money to provide 30,000 meals for the hungry and homeless of Orange County.
The winter season is a vulnerable and dangerous time for those who are homeless or cannot afford their gas and electric bill. Spend some time cleaning out your closet and donate your gently used winter clothing items to the Goodwill of Orange County Donation Center.
Lastly, consider donating to the Irvine Animal Care Center or the Orange County Humane Society . These local animal shelters that are devoted to giving neglected animals a second chance at life through adoption. They provide daily care, food and enrichment for each animal.
