Book donation points –
Due to the COVID-19 restrictions we are currently unable to offer a free collection service. However, as more of our op shops continue to reopen, we can now accept donations at any one of the opened stores around Melbourne. Find your nearest store. Unfortunately our budget does not extend to interstate transportation.

There's a volunteer stall just inside the entrance of the Royal Melbourne Hospital, they sell the books donated for $5 each. I dropped off a huge bag of books for them last year. The patients, doctors and visitors will love you for it
For fiction and non-fiction books, look into donating to prison libraries (though their donation policies can be quite strict), school libraries (depending on the book), and little free libraries/street libraries that are dotted around Melbourne. Text books and dictionaries, I would again look into donating to prison libraries, perhaps school libraries.

Prison Book Programs. Prison Book Program is a grassroots organization that exists for one purpose—to send free books to prisoners. In addition to the work they do, they also keep a current list of local organizations (in your area) doing the same thing. Find their list here.
