Donations can be dropped off at their special bin each Saturday from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Due to space limitations, they only accept clean or like-new infant and toddler clothing.
The San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission was established in 1998 to serve the needs of homeless men, women, and children in the San Fernando Valley. They accept donations of new and/or gently used clothing (all sizes). You can call and schedule a pick-up of your donation for added convenience.
The values of the National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) “are based upon respect for the dignity of all human beings and the pursuit of justice through education and awareness.” They serve many of our Los Angeles public schools with their after-school homework clubs, “Light Up a Library” Program, and more. In addition, each summer, they host a Back 2 School Store which provides children with clothing, shoes, and school supplies to get them ready for the new school year. The Union Rescue Mission assists men, women, and children experiencing homelessness. They ask that all donated clothing be cleaned and ready to wear. Donations should be sorted into boxes, labeled (i.e. “children’s clothing), and marked “used.”
Alexandria House was founded in 1996 and is a “non-profit transitional residence and house of hospitality providing safe and supportive housing for women and children in the process of moving from emergency shelter to permanent housing.”.
Upward Bound House is working to “eliminate homelessness among families with children…”. They accept donations of new and/or gently used children’s clothing and shoes. Donations may be made Monday through Friday, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
MEND’S goal is “to break the bonds of poverty by providing basic human needs and a pathway to self-reliance.” MEND accepts donations of children’s clothing and tennis shoes. Donations are accepted Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
