Donating household goods Your donation of household goods is gladly accepted at all retail store locations during each store’s hours of operation. In Duluth and Hermantown, there are additional hours for dropping off donations. We recommend dropping off donations during store hours to ensure they are processed and received by our employees.

Goodwill Duluth provides an invaluable service to our community by giving job training and opportunities to people with disabilities or other barriers to employment. You’ve always supported our mission by donating your gently used household goods and by giving us financial gifts.

What to Donate

Your donation of household goods provides valuable work for Goodwill employees and generates revenue that supports Goodwill’s rehabilitation and work programs. However, donated goods that are broken, excessively worn, unsafe or simply unsalable are of no value to Goodwill, and incur costs for their disposal.

Drop Off Paint

Enter your zip code, city and state, or street address to find the nearest, most convenient paint drop-off site to you. All PaintCare sites accept up to 5 gallons per visit (some take more). Please call ahead to confirm business hours and ask if they can accept the type and amount of paint you would like to recycle.

Fee and Funding

PaintCare programs are funded by a fee (referred to as the PaintCare fee) which is applied to the purchase price of new paint sold in the state. There is no charge for dropping off paint at a PaintCare drop-off site. The PaintCare fee is not a tax or a deposit. The fee funds all aspects of the paint stewardship program.
