We accept donations through the alleyway Tuesday - Sunday, 11am-5pm. Enter the alleyway from the south end (Fremont), between Mississippi and Michigan Avenues.

We couldn’t exist without them. By donating, you can qualify for a tax deduction, reduce disposal costs, keep items out of the landfill, and support the community.

Junk is junk. So if that pipe you’re removing has a leaky fit, they don’t want it either. If your wood-frame doors and windows function great but ain’t pretty, that’s not a problem — most customers plan to refinish it to match their product. They make wood-filler for a reason. Does Community Forklift take donations?

By donating, you can qualify for a tax deduction, reduce disposal costs, keep items out of the landfill, and support the community. Community Forklift accepts donations of most new and salvaged building & landscaping materials, appliances, and tools, as well as antique and vintage housewares.

Is a donation to Community Forklift tax deductible?

Items (and cash) donated to Community Forklift are tax deductible to the maximum extent allowed by the IRS. At the time you make a donation, Community Forklift will provide you with a donation letter itemizing the materials you donated. Unfortunately, the IRS prohibits Community Forklift from placing a value on your donated materials.

Can you claim a donation of $5,000?

Unfortunately, the IRS prohibits Community Forklift from placing a value on your donated materials. If you plan to claim a donation value of more than $5,000, you must have the items appraised by a qualified appraiser prior to making the donation and you will need to submit an IRS form 8283 with your tax filing.

Paint: ReStores sell only low-VOC Latex paint. This includes interior and exterior paint, and primer in 1 gallon and 5 gallon buckets. ReStore carries a wide range of colors, sure to suit your needs!

Our deconstruction services are an environmentally sound alternative to conventional demolition. Deconstruction is the process of carefully and systematically disassembling and removing previously constructed items with the intent to reuse them elsewhere. The deconstruction team carefully dismantles everything from kitchen and bathroom cabinets to countertops, plumbing fixtures, and lighting.

Is Stardust a non profit?

Stardust is a 50 1 (c) (3) non-profit organization. After your donation, we’ll provide a receipt for all donated materials that may be used for tax purposes. Your donations help support our mission to provide quality reclaimed materials for reuse. Please understand that Stardust is not a recycler or waste management company.
